How-to guide
How to remove drums from an MP3
MP3 is the most common audio format and DrumSplit handles it natively — no conversion required. Upload your MP3 and get back a drumless music track plus 5 separated drum stems as WAV files.
MP3 is a lossy format, so the separated stems will not be cleaner than the original allows. A 320 kbps MP3 produces noticeably better results than 128 kbps. The output stems are always WAV regardless of input format.
Step-by-step
- Open DrumSplit.io. Any browser. No account or install needed.
- Drop your MP3 file onto the upload area. Files up to 100 MB. DrumSplit reads MP3 natively.
- Pick a separation mode. Natural for acoustic drums, Puncher for electronic drums, Direct for pre-isolated drum tracks.
- Pay $0.99 and wait 2-3 minutes. The AI returns 6 WAV stems: kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, cymbals and a drumless music track.
- Download the stems. Grab the zip. All stems are 24-bit WAV regardless of your MP3's bitrate.
Tips for better results
- Use 320 kbps MP3 sources for the cleanest separation. 128 kbps is usable but noisier.
- If you have access to the same song in FLAC or WAV, use that instead for better results.
- For batch processing, upload up to 10 MP3 files at once.
