How-to guide
How to separate drums from a song on iPhone
DrumSplit runs in any mobile browser — no app install needed. You can upload audio files from your iPhone's Files app, Music library exports or Voice Memos and get separated drum stems back as a download.
DrumSplit is a web tool, not a native app. It works in Safari and Chrome on iPhone. The processing happens on our servers, so your iPhone's hardware does not matter — the same GPU-powered separation runs regardless of your device.
Step-by-step
- Open drumsplit.io in Safari or Chrome. The site is fully responsive and works on any iPhone running iOS 15 or later.
- Tap the upload area. You can upload from the Files app, a shared link, or export an M4A from Apple Music.
- Choose your mode. Natural for most music, Puncher for EDM and hip-hop.
- Pay $0.99 via Apple Pay or card. Apple Pay works in Safari for the fastest checkout.
- Wait 2-3 minutes and download. The stems zip downloads to your Files app. Open it to access the 6 WAV files.
Tips for better results
- To export a song from Apple Music: open the song, tap the share button, then Save to Files.
- DRM-protected Apple Music streaming tracks cannot be exported — you need to purchase the track first.
- The downloaded WAV stems can be imported into GarageBand on iPhone for further editing.
