How to remove drums from an AIFF file

AIFF is Apple's uncompressed lossless format, commonly exported from Logic Pro and GarageBand. DrumSplit handles it natively with the same fidelity as WAV — lossless in, lossless out.

AIFF and WAV are technically identical (both are PCM containers), so you get the same quality and the same processing time regardless of which one you upload.

Step-by-step

  1. Open DrumSplit.io. No software install required.
  2. Upload your AIFF file. Files up to 100 MB — about 10 minutes of 16-bit/44.1 kHz stereo audio.
  3. Choose your mode. Natural, Puncher or Direct depending on your material.
  4. Wait 2-3 minutes. Same processing time as WAV.
  5. Download the stems. 6 files: kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, cymbals and drumless music — all as 24-bit WAV.
