How-to guide
How to remove drums from an AIFF file
AIFF is Apple's uncompressed lossless format, commonly exported from Logic Pro and GarageBand. DrumSplit handles it natively with the same fidelity as WAV — lossless in, lossless out.
AIFF and WAV are technically identical (both are PCM containers), so you get the same quality and the same processing time regardless of which one you upload.
Step-by-step
- Open DrumSplit.io. No software install required.
- Upload your AIFF file. Files up to 100 MB — about 10 minutes of 16-bit/44.1 kHz stereo audio.
- Choose your mode. Natural, Puncher or Direct depending on your material.
- Wait 2-3 minutes. Same processing time as WAV.
- Download the stems. 6 files: kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, cymbals and drumless music — all as 24-bit WAV.
Tips for better results
- If your AIFF bounce from Logic Pro exceeds 100 MB, re-bounce at 16-bit instead of 32-bit float.
- The output WAV stems import cleanly into Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton Live and any other DAW.
- For very long sessions, trim to the section you need before uploading.
